Posted Date: 08/21/26 (12:06 PM)

Dear Payne Families,
A wonderful way to support your child and their school is by volunteering on school committees. I have included a small description of each committee.
School Site Council (SSC)-a legally required, elected group of teachers, parents, school staff, and secondary students that works with the principal. Together, they develop, review, and monitor the school’s improvement plans and budgets to boost student achievement.
English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC)- is a school-level group in California public schools with 21 or more English learner students. Parents, staff, and community members work together on this committee to advise the principal and school staff on programs and services for students learning English.
Superintendents Parent Advisory Council (SPAC)-a representative group of parents and guardians that meets regularly with a school district superintendent. Its main goal is to share community perspectives, provide feedback on district policies and strategic plans, and improve communication between schools and families.
If you are interested in joining or need further information please don't hesitate to call me at (626)652-4909. We will reach out to every parent that submits an interest.

Best Regards,
Nellie Huerta
